April 25th, 1-3:30 pm @ Friends Forever Studio (285 Rantoul St, Beverly, Pond St entrance) with Haley!

Discover the meditative art of tapestry weaving in this beginner-friendly hands-on workshop. Whether you’re drawn to textiles, looking for a new creative outlet, or simply curious about how woven cloth is made, this 2.5-hour class is the perfect entry point.

You’ll learn to set up your loom, understand warp and weft, and use basic weaving techniques to build a small finished piece you can take home the same day. All looms, yarn, and tools are provided—just bring your curiosity and creativity. This is a welcoming, low-pressure space to slow down, make something with your hands, and connect with a community of fellow makers.

What’s included:

  • All materials: looms to use in class, yarn, and weaving combs
  • Guided instruction from setup through finishing
  • A completed mini tapestry to take home
  • Tips and resources for continuing your weaving practice at home

Seltzers will be provided! 

All materials needed will be supplied and you’ll bring home your project on the same day.

Haley Houseman is a lifelong textile enthusiast and writer who learned to sew at her mother’s side as soon as she could reach the foot pedal. With a deep family history of sewing, tailoring, and craft education, she brings generations of knowledge to the classroom—along with a love of making that spans spinning, weaving, sewing, and more. She teaches and provides mending services across the Greater Boston area. Her classes aim to demystify the crafts we yearn to learn, and are rooted in both skill-building and storytelling—helping students feel at home with their tools and empowered to bring their ideas to life.

Frequently asked questions

In the event of a workshop cancellation by the instructor or Friends Forever, all attendees will be notified and receive a full refund and notified of a rain date if any.

There is a 5-day cancellation window for attendees. You can cancel your reservation within 5 days before the class date to receive a refund. Cancellations after the 5-day window will not be refunded.

In the event of a rescheduled class, patrons with already purchased tickets will be notified and get first priority for seats for the new date. New and remaining seats -- if any -- will then be opened up to the public for purchase.

We are open to hosting fundraisers, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, or other events for ages 18 and up. Please also include in your email if you'd like the studio to also host a workshop for your event - ex: block printing, painting, spell jar making, etc

Photographs may be taken at any of the FFS workshops and may be used in future marketing of the studio and it's events

Unfortunately no, we are an adults-only studio space. All our classes are 18+ unless otherwise stated.
