Join us for a fun day of making a ginger oxymel and learning about herbal remedies for colds and flus on November 15th 11-12:30pm @ Friends Forever!

Cold and flu season is here, and who doesn’t want to avoid them plus have easy, simple
ways to take care when they do hit? Herbs, many of which may already be in your kitchen
cupboard, can help to protect and/or shorten and lessen the severity of these nasty viruses. Herbs are cheaper, often more effective, and don’t have nasty side effects, plus they are so easy to work with! Learn what herbs you can use, ways to use them and some easy herbal preparations to have on hand. We will make a fresh ginger oxymel that you will take home with you. Handouts and recipes included. We will have fresh ginger tea, one of the best remedies for what ails ya!

Students will walk away from the class with:

  • skills on how to make a Ginger Oxymel Herbal Remedy
  • their own handmade oxymel potion
  • handouts that include tips for making herbal remedies at home
  • hopefully some friends!

Who this workshop is for:

  • People who are interested in crafting their own herbal remedies at home and increasing their immune system during the cold season ahead. No experience required.

All supplies are included. The class is capped at 15 participant with a minimum of 5 in order to run the workshop. If fewer than 5 people sign up, the class will be canceled and you will be refunded.

Iris Weaver is a bioregional herbalist and foraging instructor, working and crafting
with plants since her teens. She makes plant medicines, such as tinctures, infused vinegars, and salves, and plant-based crafts, such as wreaths and natural plant dyes. She teaches classes on these topics locally. Iris has been treating colds and flus for herself, her family, and friends for decades and has taught variations of this class a number of times.

Frequently asked questions

In the event of a workshop cancellation by the instructor or Friends Forever, all attendees will be notified and receive a full refund and notified of a rain date if any.

There is a 5-day cancellation window for attendees. You can cancel your reservation within 5 days before the class date to receive a refund. Cancellations after the 5-day window will not be refunded.

In the event of a rescheduled class, patrons with already purchased tickets will be notified and get first priority for seats for the new date. New and remaining seats -- if any -- will then be opened up to the public for purchase.

We are open to hosting fundraisers, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, or other events for ages 18 and up. Please also include in your email if you'd like the studio to also host a workshop for your event - ex: block printing, painting, spell jar making, etc

Photographs may be taken at any of the FFS workshops and may be used in future marketing of the studio and it's events
