- Candle Information
All Soy Much Brighter candles are crafted with 100% soy wax made in the USA. Candles are scented with phthalate-free fragrance & essential oil blends. The 4oz sizes are made with an all natural cotton wick, while the 8oz. and 12oz. sizes are made with an organic, crackling wooden wick (native hardwood). The benefit of a wooden wick (besides that cozy soft crackle) is that it helps to increase the lifetime of the candle since the wood burns at a slower rate compared to cotton wicks.
Each candle is hand poured by myself, Katie - Hey!, into recyclable glass jars. These jars can be placed in your recycling bin for re-use. They can also be up-cycled and used around your home for various things that jars are used for: pencils, change, cue tips, rocks, whatever you fancy!

Light your candles in a well-ventilated area for at least one hour. Allow the candle to generate a wax pool that reaches the edges of the jar. This is a part of creating what is called the "wax memory". Yes, it's a thing. If you don't allow the wax to fully burn out to the edges of the candle, your subsequent burns will leave you with a not-so-nice wax tunnel version of your candle and decrease the lifetime of your purchase.
The wick will need a trim before most burns, to at least 1/4" for cotton wicks and 1/8" for wooden wicks. This will ensure that your candle stays lit for as long as you'd like it to. However, it is not recommend to keep it lit for more than 3-4 hours at a time - mostly for precautionary reasons. You can trim your cooled, charred wicks with your own fingers and toss 'em. You can also use scissors, pliers, your sister's tweezers, or a gadget made especially for candle trimming (for those fancy folks). It must be said - DO NOT attempt to trim the wick with your fingers while the candle is still hot!
